What is Knitting Pattern Tech Editing?

Tech Editing is a process where a qualified Knitting Pattern Tech Editor will look through your knitting pattern to check that the maths is correct, without knitting the pattern. Things a Tech Editor checks for are:

• The finished sizes are correct based on gauge, for all sizes
• All equipment and materials that are listed are used in the pattern
• Finished measurements align with the sizing measurements used by the designer (eg, Ysolda’s sizing chart, CYC)
• Stitch patterns used match the photo or drawing provided
• Charts and written instructions match
• All abbreviations are used in the pattern
• Spelling, punctuation and grammar
• Your brand and identity is aligned with your stylesheet (if you have one)

I am a very relaxed and collaborative Tech Editor, I find out the way you like to work to make the process as smooth as possible.

When you get in touch you’re not obligated to commit to anything, I want you to be sure you want to work with me as much as I would like to work with you.

We can chat over email, by text or over a video call – whichever works best for you. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want!

I offer a final check post test knitting to ensure you are 100% comfortable with the pattern you are releasing.
